Woodrow Carson Hoover, 84, of Huntsburg, Ohio (formerly of Cleveland, Ohio) passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at Ohman Family Living at Blossom.
He was born June 2, 1937, in Little Birch, Braxton County, West Virginia to the late Ralph B. and Reva Gladys (Robinson) Hoover. Out of 7 children, he was born the largest, weighing over 10 lbs. He attended Summerville High School, then came to Cleveland for work. He married the love of his life, Lois (Arbogast) April 15, 1957, and would recently have celebrated their 65th anniversary.
He worked at G.M. Fisher Body in Euclid, Ohio before retiring in 1984. After retiring from GM, he worked part time as an electrician.
Woodrow was a member of the UAW, Eagles of Chardon, and Huntsburg Snowmobile Club. He enjoyed 4 wheeling and snowmobiling at their cabin in West Virginia. He was a good carpenter; remodeling 2 homes and he also built a barn. He LOVED playing cards, and the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, boating and water skiing.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Lois, and 2 daughters, Deborah (Matthew Scott) Motil, and Andrea (John Dale) Alden, along with his grandchildren, Garrick Light, Bo L. Adams, and Brandon Light, and 4 great grandsons, and sisters, Aretta Rose, Avenell Pierson, Elaine (Leon) Dillon, Sharon ( Alvin) Roberts, Sheila K ( George) Calkins. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ralph Hoover Jr. and grandsons Steven H. Adams, and David Scott Adams.
Calling hours will be Monday, February 14, 2022, from 12-2 PM until the Celebration of life with will be held at 2:00 PM at Sly Family Funeral Home 15670 West High Street Middlefield, Ohio 44062. Woodrow will be laid to rest at East Claridon Cemetery.
