Wolfgang Brede, 73 of Middlefield, formerly of Troy and Maple Heights, passed away on May 2, 2023, at home with his family by his side.
Born on March 28, 1950, in Germany to the late Georg and Marianne (Cron) Brede. In Germany, he was a pro-chess player and was boxer and also enjoyed race car driving. After graduation, Wolfgang went on to be a Tool and Die maker, and an IT programmer for Ford Motor Company in Walton Hills. He was a member of the UAW #420. 1970 - 2006 Ford Motor Company Walton Hills, Ohio and a Team (Group) Leader 2002-2006 Retired December 31, 2006, Group Leader in the (Metal Lab) Working to resolve issues with problem parts.
Information Technologies 1997-2001 Developed and Integrated 41 Applications for the Plant.
(TPM) Total Preventive Maintenance Coordinator 1991-1996, Hit-to-Hit Coordinator 1988-1991 Maintained Die Set Records Die Maintenance 1970-1988 Production Line, Trouble Shooter Maintained Large Automotive Dies (Outer Surface) New Dies (Tryout), Machine shop Experience Developed Maintenance program for Nitrogen Springs (DADCO) and rolled out same to (7) Stamping plants.
Among these other interests, he also enjoyed working on cars, he liked to reinvent things, he wrote computer programing, enjoyed woodworking. He was a connoisseur of television, was a strong family man and he and his wife were the owners of Maplewood Kennels.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Marsha, daughter Jenny (David) Hynst, son Michael (Rachel) Brede and grandchildren Kylee Kinser, William Brede and Calli Kinser as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins in Germany.
Calling hours will be Saturday, May 13, 2023, from 3:00-5:00 PM, with a Time of Sharing at 5:00 PM at Sly Family Funeral Home 15670 W. High Street, Middlefield.
