Wilma L. Satterlee, 97, lifetime resident of West Farmington, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Thursday, October 1, 2020. She was born in Smithtown, Kentucky on September 15, 1923, daughter of the late Walter and Martha (Shepherd) Lawson. Wilma married the love of her life Robert Lloyd Satterlee on November 25, 1941. They were married 74 years before he died July 1, 2015. They are now reunited “together again”.
Wilma worked in the Credit Department at Trumbull Memorial Hospital for years. She was a member of the Farmington United Methodist Church. She baked the best pineapple flopovers and pineapple pies and was famous for her rose garden. She would not flee from a burning building unless her make up was perfect. She was a beautiful and truly kind person, always smiling and loved to visit with anyone she met. Her family and friends will miss her dearly.
Wilma is survived by her loving son and daughters, Robert A. Satterlee of W. Farmington, Linda (Paul) Klouda of W. Farmington and Patti Russo of Mesopotamia, five grandchildren, Julie (Kevin) Bontrager, Jennifer (Chad) Webb, Jonathan (Lauren) Klouda, Laurie (Mike) Swanker, and Lindsey (Andy) Ray, 10 great grandchildren, Kyle, Matthew, David, Rebecca, Faith, Lance, Chase, Elizabeth, Harrison, Andrew, and her sister Lee Bartlett. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters, Mildred Larmi and Alma Arvanitis, her brother Lonnie Lawson, and three brothers-in law, Ed Bartlett, Harry Arvanitis, and Alan Larami.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 from 11:00 – 1:00 PM with a Celebration of her life to follow at 1:00 PM at Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 West High St., Middlefield, OH 44062.
