William “Bill” Henry Kuchenbecker, 77 of East Claridon passed away at University Hospital in Cleveland after a sudden illness on Tuesday, October 5, 2021. He was born on October 11, 1943, in Chardon, Ohio. Bill was preceded in death by his mother Ida (Yahnert) and stepfather Edwin Urbanowicz and his father Leon Kuchenbecker. He served in the US Army from 1963-1965. Bill worked for 47 years at Burton Rubber Processing (now Hexpol) retiring in December of 2012.
He played on the slow pitch softball team for Burton Rubber, enjoyed being part of a bowling league for many years and loved to play golf. Bill enjoyed spending time with family and hanging out with his friends whether it was for a breakfast get together or a group on a golf outing. He loved to tell jokes and make people laugh.
Surviving is, his wife of 54 years, Jean (Hickman) Kuchenbecker, his son Bill (Amy) Kuchenbecker, two daughters, Tammy (Jared) Hall and Jeanie (Matt) Davis and three granddaughters, Chelsea Hall, Corrine Hall, and Kenzley Davis; his sisters, Haroldine Urbanowicz, Fran (Roger) Hanna and brother Dale Urbanowicz, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held 6:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday, October 7, 2021, at Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 West High St., Middlefield, OH 44062. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 8, 2021, at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the East Claridon Cemetery.
