William Kaser Obituary

William G. Kaser, 86, of Mecca, formerly of Garrettsville, passed away peacefully on Thursday January 1, 2026, surrounded by his family.

William was born on July 30, 1939, to Harold and Lottie (Waite) Kaser in Garrettsville, Ohio. One of six children went on to live a long and fulfilling life marked by hard work, family, and togetherness.

He proudly served in the United States Army, drafted December 5, 1962. Following his service, William married the love of his life, Deloris Harrill. Together they raised two wonderful children, Randy and Jean, and built a life centered on family.

William was truly a jack of all trades and a motorhead to the core. He excelled as a mechanic and bodywork specialist and spent his career in the road paving industry, working for many of the area’s major paving companies. He also co-owned L & K Paving with his partner, John Lyons. His passion for engines even led him to race cars at Thompson Speedway.

William embodied the true meaning of “togetherness.” Everything he did, he did with his family, from building houses to hauling wood for the winter. He enjoyed southern gospel music and Willie Nelson and was well known for his strong work ethic. His life motto was, “If they can do it, I can do it.”

He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife, Deloris; his son, Randy Kaser (Debbie) and his daughter, Jean Kaser (Chad Earls); his siblings, Jeananne Miracle, Joann Gilliland, Judy (Bob) Schuller, Tom (Cindy Piechowiak) Kaser, and Rex (Judy) Kaser; as well as many nieces and nephews.

William was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers-in-law, Jim Miracle and Dennis Gilliland.

Calling hours will be held at Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 W. High Street, Middlefield, on Monday January 5, 2026, from 11:00 AM until his Funeral Service at 1:00 PM.  His son Pastor Randy Kaser will be officiating his service. Burial will follow in Middlefield Cemetery.
