Wanda Lee Polomsky, age 78, of Middlefield, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, March 28, 2026.
Born on June 22, 1947, in Corry, Pennsylvania, Wanda was the daughter of the late Charles E. Henry and Velma M. (Lewis) Henry. She went on to earn an associate degree from Bryant & Stratton College in Buffalo, New York, worked at Johnson Rubber Factory and later became a co-owner of Farmers Portable Service, RCJ Egg Farm and Evergreen Dairy alongside her husband.
Wanda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many, often referred to as their “second mother” and close confidant. She shared 56 loving years of marriage with her husband, Richard Charles Polomsky. Together they built a life centered on family, faith, love and hard work.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Richard; her children, Christine (Dean) DiCarlo, LeeAnne (Patrick) Chapman, Brian (Martha) Polomsky and Julie (Brian) Gordon; her brother, Richard (Annie) Henry; her sister, Nancy Pennington and 11 Grandchildren, Miles, Madison, Mollee, Dean, Anne, Evan, Kate, Trent, Allison, Alex and Graci. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Evelyn Kacenski and Twyla Holzhauer.
Wanda was a member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church and found comfort in her faith. She will be remembered for her strength, dedication to her family, and the care she showed to those around her. She was always available to talk or provide a hug. She never missed an important life event, holiday, or birthday, often providing an unexpected card for numerous friends, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and long-time close relationships. She was an avid reader and enjoyed putting puzzles together during the winter months. She loved to travel—whether to visit her children or to attend the countless sporting events and performances of her grandchildren and those she held dear. She never passed up an opportunity to beat you at a card or board game of your choosing; her competitive spirit was matched only by her warm smile, which was cherished by all fortunate enough to be in her presence.
Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Edward’s Church, 16150 Center St, Parkman, OH 44080, with Father Jacob officiating. A Celebration of Life will follow at St. Edward’s Hall. All are welcome to come and honor this amazing woman that was loved deeply by so many because of the love she showed for others.
Wanda’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
