Virginia Doris Anthony, 82, went to meet Jesus on Friday, Oct. 14, 2022.
She was born Aug. 26, 1940 in Cortland, Ohio to Homer and Ruth Bailey, their first child.
She grew up in her beloved town of West Farmington, Ohio and graduated from Farmington High School in 1958, as a member of the National Honor Society. She married David Foster Anthony on July 19 of that same year. They were married 64 years, living in Ohio, New Jersey, New York, Illinois and Tennessee. For the last 20-plus years, they have lived in Bristolville, Ohio.
Virginia loved the Lord and people and was known as a faithful and devoted wife, mother and friend. She worked for several Christian mission organizations and spent many years teaching Sunday School and caring for children in the church nursery. She loved to bake, garden, swim and attend local concerts with her husband. She loved living in the country because it allowed her to see God’s beautiful creation, especially birds and deer.
Survivors include two children, David (Sandy) Anthony and Valerie (Brad) Schreiner of Illinois; sister, Valerie (Bill) Lynch of Sandusky, Ohio; brother, Barry (Shela) Bailey of Orwell Ohio; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren, all of whom live in Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Ruth Bailey; and brothers, David Bailey and Chester Bailey.
As she requested, Virginia will be cremated. There will be no calling hours, but A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 5th at 1:00 pm at Champion Baptist Church, 556 Center St W, Warren, OH 44481
