Velma S. Vort 90 of Middlefield formerly of Parkman and Windsor, passed away at Ohman Family at Briar Saturday April 15, 2023. She was born in Parkman on August 24, 1932 to the late Victor and Susan (Toth) Jambor. She graduated from Parkman High School in 1950 and was the valedictorian of her class. She worked for Johnson Rubber in Middlefield and at Structured Fiber in Chardon. She was sales secretary for both companies. Velma loved gardening, bird watching and feeding birds. She would refinish furniture she would find while antiquing with her husband. She married the love of her life Richard Vort December 27, 1973 in Williamsburg, VA. He passed away March of 2003 and were married for 30 years.
Velma will be greatly missed by her sister Louise Glassburner of Middlefield. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Calling hour will be held Wednesday April 19, 2023 at Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 W. High Street, Middlefield, Ohio 44062, from 11:00 AM until her service witch will be held at 12:00 PM. Pastor Will Coley of Parkman Congregational Church will be officiating. Burial will follow the services in Windsor Cemetery, Windsor, Ohio.
