Thomas T. Stehlik, 66, of Middlefield, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home on April 4, 2025, surrounded by his loving family after a long courageous fight with cancer. He was born on June 27, 1958, in Euclid, Ohio, to Donald J. and Beverly (Tiffany) Stehlik.
Tom was a proud U.S. Army Sergeant First Class who served his country proudly for 20 years. Tom was a platoon sergeant, motor pool sergeant, tank mechanic, quality control NCOIC, where he stored equipment for combat and deactivated Europe when the Berlin wall came down. After 20 years serving in the Army, he retired and went on to work for the Ohio Addressing Co. as a service engineer. He earned a degree in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, showcasing his dedication to learning and personal growth.
Tom was a devoted, loving husband to his wife, Christa (Hatzel) Stehlik for 48 years. He was a loving loyal father to his children, William (Carmen) Hatzel and Tiffany (Ben S.) Stehlik. He was a cherished grandfather to Adrian, Max, Alexia, Arielle, and Ava.
Active in his community, Tom was a dedicated member of the Middlefield VFW, where he contributed to numerous projects, organizing Sports Fest and the Veterans Food Pantry. He was also an avid hunter, enjoyed competition clay shooting, and loved fishing.
Tom is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and his siblings: Richard Stehlik, Jim (Tracy) Stehlik, Joe (Lisa) Stehlik, Penny (Gary) Foley, Sandra (Donald) Koscelnik, Bonnie (Dave) Conley, and his sister-in-law, Mary Stehlik, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Beverly Stehlik, and his brother, Donald Stehlik Jr. and nephew Daniel Koscelnik
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 W. High Street, Middlefield, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with a funeral service immediately following at 2:00 PM. Burial will take place at Middlefield Cemetery.
Tom will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. Memorial donations can be given in Tom’s name to the Middlefield VFW.
