Thomas Arthur Naylor of Middlefield, Ohio passed away in Lake Placid, Florida on April 21, 2015 after a brief illness. He was 89 years old. Born March 31, 1926, in Warren, Ohio to Arthur Naylor and Leona Naylor, Thomas served in the US Navy during World War II. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid Cleveland sports and Ohio State fan. He also enjoyed car racing especially NASCAR. His favorite driver was Jeff Gordon. He was also an avid fisherman with many trips with friends and family to Lake Chibougamau, Quebec, Canada and many times at Lake Erie.
He worked for many years at Taylor-Winfield in Warren, Ohio and had moved to Visalia, California working for several years before he retired and eventually moved back to Middlefield, Ohio. He loved to travel, and he and his wife traveled all over the country in their fifth wheel. Eventually they ended up moving to Lake Placid, Florida and where he spent the rest of his retirement years.
He is sadly missed by his children, Colleen Naylor of Columbus, and son, Kevin (Joy) Naylor of Visalia, CA. He also left behind his beloved wife, Elaine Naylor (recently deceased), grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by stepdaughters, Kerri (Edward) Pfrenger, Kelli (Rick Matzek) Kothera, and Kristi Selby. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Naylor and sister Pauline Perkins. His son, Ryan Naylor, was living in Middlefield and had recently passed way.
Calling hours will be held Friday, September 29th, 2023, starting at 1:00 pm with a time of sharing with family and friends at the Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 West High St. in Middlefield, OH 44062. He will be laid to rest with his wife in Middlefield Cemetery, immediately following.
