Thomas Alan Hoopes

Thomas Alan Hoopes, 79, of Ohio passed away peacefully at home on Monday September 2, 2024. Tom was born in Cleveland Ohio on February 13, 1945, to William E and Barbara E (Cobb) Hoopes.

 Tom started working at Lincoln electric right out of high school and then was drafted into the US army during the Vietnam war, then came home and returned to Lincoln electric for 46 years where he retired. He married his best friend Sharon (Kilko) on August 31, 1968, and enjoyed 56 wonderful years, where he raised 5 kids on their farm.

He was a member of the 213th ASHC Blackcats unit.  He was known to help anyone when they needed it. He loved to work on old cars, go hunting and fishing. He was a member of Huntsburg Baptist Church for 56 yrs. He loved to watch cowboy shows and movies. He has a soft heart for animals including skunks cats and dogs. He had a love of old cars and always wanted to give his sweetheart a ride in his Model-T but never got to.

Tom will be greatly missed by his family, his wife Sharon, children, Janet Sue Hoopes (John Roulston)Diane Marie Houghton (Ray), Deborah Lynn Hoopes (Larry Alston), Charlotte Ann Hoopes and Charles William (Melissa) Hoopes, grandchildren, Jessica Dewan (Mike), Tess Houghton, Sabrina Lamb (Dalton), Carl Houghton, Lawrence Alston-Hoopes, Casandra Alston-Hoopes, Chris Brazil (Megan), Kegen Hoopes, Sierra Brazil (Dylon Cox), Joshua Brazil, Braden Hoopes, great grandchildren, Dylon Cox, Gabriel Cox and Daxton Donaldson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Mary Ellen Hoopes, and Shirley Marie Haman.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2024, from 3:00-6:00 PM at Huntsburg Baptist Church

16401 Mayfield Rd, Huntsburg, OH 44046. Calling hours will also be held at the church on Monday, September 16, 2024, from 10:00-11:00 Am with the service at 11:00 AM with pastor Jim Barbina officiating. Burial will be held Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at 1:15 P.M. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at 10175 Rawiga Road. Seville, Ohio 44273. Please arrive at the cemetery by 1:00 PM.
