Theresa Menosky Obituary
Theresa Ann Menosky (nee Palmer), age 87, beloved wife of Jack J. Menosky, passed away home surrounded by her loving daughters.
Theresa met the love of her life, Jack, while in high school. They married in July of 1953. She was a graduate of North Side Nursing School in Youngstown, Ohio and worked as a Labor and Delivery Nurse as well as in Pediatrics.
Following her nursing career, Theresa turned her sites to being a stay at home mother raising her five children. She was a volunteer for many of the school activities her children were involved in. She was a member of the Christ Child Society and enjoyed many years as a volunteer with them as well.
Theresa loved traveling with Jack, her children, and grandchildren whether in the states or overseas. They had many fun and exciting excursions and made lasting memories. She loved entertaining, for family gatherings.
One of Theresa's passions was swimming. She spent her time as a youngster swimming at the North Side Pool in Youngstown and swam every chance she could over the years.
Theresa was a very spiritual woman who lived her faith every day of her life. She had the biggest heart and made a lasting impression on everyone she met. People commented on what a classy, elegant, and beautiful woman she was inside and out.
Our mother taught us that family was the most important thing in life. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She and our father were regular attendants at the grandchildren’s sports events and school programs. Friends of the grandchildren referred to her as “ the coolest Grandma ever."
We can all continues to carry on Theresa’s legacy by doing her final request of being kind to each other. You remain forever in our hearts.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Kara (Tim) Yoder, Leah (David) Funk, Lisa (Peter Capaldi) Fisher, Anne (Jeff) Cummons, grandchildren, Craig (Allyson) Yoder, Brian Casto, Debby Funk, Shawna (Brian) Grella, Ashley Menosky, John J. IV (Courtney) Menosky, Brandon (Amber) Fisher, Christopher Fisher, Jeffrey (Chelsea Reed) Fisher, Taylor Cummons, Nicholas (Hailey) Cummons, and 12 ½ great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, John “Jack” Menosky Jr., who died June 8, 2016, her son, John J. Menosky III, brother, Stephen A. Palmer Sr., grandsons, Joshua Yoder, and Tyler Yoder,
A Private Graveside service was held at Overlook Cemetery in Parkman. There will be a Memorial Mass scheduled for a later date.
