Tad VanderMaas, age 65, of Burton, Ohio, passed away on April 3, 2026.
Tad is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Cheryl; his three sons, Bryan, Pete, and Opey, along with their wives and many cherished grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Todd and his wife.
He was preceded in death by his father, Boyd VanderMaas; his sister, Mary Anderson; his mother, Carol Day; his mother-in-law, Elane Giel; his brother-in-law, Bo Giel; and his father-in-law, John Giel.
Tad worked for Jenkins Electric for 19 years. He had a passion for anything with a motor, and riding with his sons was one of his favorite pastimes. He also enjoyed hunting, but his greatest passion was fishing. Tad was an avid fisherman who especially enjoyed bass fishing tournaments at Ladue with his fishing partner and best friend, Johnny.
Calling hours will be held at Sly Funeral Home 15670 W. High Street, Middlefield, Ohio 44062, on Friday, April 10th, from 4:00–8:00 PM.
