Susan Slusher Obituary

Susan Ann Slusher passed away peacefully, at home, in Orwell, Ohio on April 30, 2023, just short of her 71st birthday.
Susie was born on May 10th, 1952, to Louis and Clara Brothag in Warren, Ohio. She grew up surrounded by her large family and as one of the oldest of twelve, she was considered a pillar of strength to her siblings.
On December 6, 1969, she married the love of her life, Eddy. Together, they raised their three children, Dan, Jen, and Cindy, and dedicated the next 40 years of their lives building their business, Slusher Trucking.

Our fondest memories of her came from dances with her husband, camping with her family, and trips to Las Vegas. She would never pass up the opportunity to search for treasures at yard sales and goodwill. During the warmer months, she could be found working in her garden, zooming around on her zero turn, and fishing in the pond. She cherished her family and loved being a grandma. Throughout her lifetime she enjoyed many things including a good piece of pumpkin pie, sneaking oreos, and the “occasional” rice cake.
A recent visit to her house would undoubtedly include her listening to country music, solving word search puzzles, and her convincing you to play just one more round of rummy.
Susan loved her crazy family dearly. She will truly be missed and will never, ever be forgotten.

Susan will be reunited in heaven with her beloved husband Edward Eugene Slusher; grandson, Aaron Edward Allmon; parents, Louis and Clara Brothag, and sister and brother-in-law Theresa and Pete Peterson.
She leaves behind, to cherish her memory, her children, Daniel Slusher and Wenona Herrmann, Jennifer Plant and Dwayne Kinas, and Cynthia Slusher; grandchildren, Samantha (Javier) Lopez, Melissa (Dominic) D’Augustino, Scott (Cora) Ellsworth, Ashley (Austin) Eubank, and Casey (Destiny) Plant. As well as great grandchildren Myla D’Augustino and Olivia Lopez.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her siblings Margaret (Roy) Gregory, Joseph Brothag, Louise Lavin, Victoria (Duree) Kocis, Thomas (Lezlie) Brothag, Catherine Michalski, Patricia (Richard) Waldo, Clara (Marty) Gargano, Louis (Wendy) Brothag, and Julia (Allen) Hartman.

There are no words that can express how grateful we are to those who were there throughout the process of caring for her. It truly took a village. The entire family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Kelli, Sirena, Lexi, Gloria, Brittany, Tracy, Kayla, Carolyn, and Jen.
