Sandra "Sandy" Christenson Obituary
Sandy L. Christenson 67 of Huntsburg passed away Monday, April 13, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 4, 1952 in Peoria, Illinois to the late David and Virginia (Franke) Bauman. She met the love of her life, Don Christenson whom she married August 29, 1971. Sandy was a Volunteer Fire Fighter for Middlefield Fire where she became their Fire inspector and Safety Officer. She was instrumental in setting up Amish Safety Days, educating the public in fire prevention and safety. Sandy was also the RAD Officer for the Geauga County Emergency Services Perry Power Plant Drills for many years. She was a past president of the Geauga County Fire Fighters Association, member of the Geauga County Safety Council which she helped establish in 2006. Besides her active life in the Fire Department she enjoyed bird watching, knitting, and crocheting. Sandy was a Girl Scout leader for many years, the Huntsburg Township Zoning Inspector, and served on the Huntsburg Township Zoning Commission.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, Don Christenson, daughter, Sarah Springer of Painesville, brother, Jim Bauman of Nashville TN., grandchildren Alexander Siracki, Heather Siracki, and many friends and neighbors She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
