Sally Mae Miller, age 80, of Troy Township, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at UH Geauga.
She was born on August 13, 1945, in Claridon, Ohio, to the late Lester and Fannie (Schmucker) Detweiler.
Sally was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great friend to many. She spent her life caring for her family as a homemaker and also worked cleaning homes in her community. A woman of strong Christian faith, Sally was an active member of New Mercies Church, where she faithfully taught Sunday School and served in the church kitchen. She found great joy in serving others, traveling, and most especially spending time with her grandchildren and attending their activities.
She is survived by her loving husband, John Henry Miller; her children, Brian (Theresa) Miller, Kevin (Megan) Miller, and Kim (Rick) Rofe; her grandchildren, Andrew, Aaron, Austin, Abby, Natalie, Savannah, Ryan, Alyssa, and Emily; and her sisters, Carol (Bill) Miller, Susan (Henry) Miller, and Cora (the late Sam) Byler. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her infant daughter; and her brothers, Ray (Liz) Detweiler, Lester (Mattie) Detweiler Jr, and William Henry Detweiler and brother-in-law, Sam Byler.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday, May 4, 2026, at Sly Family Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at New Mercies Church, with Pastor Roy Williams officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Overlook Cemetery, Parkman, Ohio.
