Ruth M. Vondrasek, 98, entered into eternal peace Tuesday, December 7, 2021, with loving family by her side at Windsor House in Champion. She was born in Geauga County, Ohio on May 16, 1923 to Howard and Nellie Champlin. She worked as a clerk at Klingemeier Grocery Store (Sparkle) until retiring to become a homemaker. During that time, she was a loving mother to her four children, Marion, June, Frank, and Donald.
Ruth loved to tell stories of "living on the farm" as a child. She loved to feed the birds, spend time outside planting flowers, read a good book, and watch Westerns. Her greatest joys were when she could spend time with her family, sharing laughter and love.
Ruth's loving memory will be carried on by her daughter, Marion (Ronald) Dolejs; grandchildren, Denise (Greg) Gwinnup, Scott (Sandi) Lyons, Brenda (Bill) Eskins, Donald (Jennie) Vondrasek, Kirk (Brooke) Vondrasek; and many deeply loved great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Ruth was predeceased by her parents; siblings, Walter, Forrest, and Ruby; children, June Lyons, Frank Vondrasek, Donald Vondrasek, son in law, Ed Lyons' and grandchildren, Frank, Debbie, and Lisa.
A private graveside service will be held at Champion Cemetery, where Ruth will be laid to rest beside her children.
Arrangements of comfort were handled by the Sly Family Funeral Home. The family wishes to thank the caring staff at Windsor House in Champion; Ruth felt loved and that means the world to her family.
