Ruby Phifer 90, of Middlefield, formerly of Newbury, passed away on Thursday August 22, 2024, at Ohman Family Living at Briar Cliff Manor.
Ruby was born on November 20, 1933, to Newt and Alice (Berry) Farmer in Clouds, TN. She graduated from Big Sandy High School. She met her husband Thomas Phifer and they were married for 58 years. She graduated from cosmetology school and was a hairdresser for 23 years. She was also a bus driver for Newbury schools for 12 years. One of Ruby’s favorite things was to travel, gamble, crochet, and was an avid reader.
Ruby will be greatly missed by her daughters Donna (Phil) Jones, and Darlene (Donn Breckenridge) Fury, and her grandchildren Scott, Rachel, Kelli, Joshua, Jeremy, Tommy, Corey and 9 great grandchildren, and her daughter-in-law, Rosie Phifer. Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas O. Phifer, son, Thomas E. Phifer, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Calling hours will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 PM Monday August 26, 2024, at the Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 W, Hgih St. Middlefield, OH 44062. Funeral Service will be at the Funeral Home 11:00 AM Tuesday August 27, 2024. She will be laid to rest following the services in Western Reserve Memorial Garden in Chesterland, Ohio.
