Ronald Schwartz Obituary

Ronald Joseph Schwartz, 71, of Montville sadly passed away September 3, 2021. He was born July 3, 1950, in Cleveland, OH, to the late Marcellus Schwartz and Cecile (Petrosevic) Schwartz. He was the husband of Kathy (Peairs) Schwartz, with whom he shared 38 years of marriage after meeting on a blind date in 1982.

Ron graduated from St. Joseph’s High School, class of 1968. He attended Ohio State University and Cleveland State University where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts. He also attended Cornell University with a focus in International Relations. Alongside his passion as a part time farmer, he become an independent contractor, an established painter and finish carpenter. He was a perfectionist in his craft, always wanting to please his customers and he always brought a bit of entertainment with his cheery whistling.

Ron cherished his farm; his favorite pastimes were spent walking the hayfields and woods with his family and dogs. He continued his mother’s love of baking and cooking, always making more than enough to share with family and friends.

Ron above all else was a family man. He was the father to three daughters and two stepdaughters, all who would not be the strong women they are today without his love and encouragement. He was a proud Papa to his four grandchildren, a devoted brother, a loving and fun uncle to his nieces and nephews and a kind soul to anyone he called family.

Ron had the ability to make every stranger feel like a friend and bring a smile to the face of even the sourest characters. There was never a day in which the beauty and wonder of life was lost on him - time wasn’t to be wasted on complaining or things that couldn’t be changed. Time was to be spent engaged in meaningful conversations, helping someone in need, or making his family laugh.

Unsurprisingly, Ron left this world without any known enemies, foes, or anyone who could say they didn’t care for his truly kind and gentle character. His legacy lives on in the genuine kindness and humbling love of all those who were lucky enough to share time with him.

Ron is survived by his wife Kathy Schwartz, daughters Katti (David) Cadorette, Vikki (Conor) Monaghan, Emily Schwartz (Spouse Bryan Foley), Nikki Dobay (Spouse Par Ramfjord), Sherri (Dobay) (Mark) Carter, 4 Grandchildren, Daniel Cadorette, Lillian Cadorette, Marian Cadorette, and Sullivan Ronald Monaghan, his brother Robert and spouse Marilyn (Holy) Schwartz and family. He is proceeded in death by his parents, his sister Nancy Schwartz and cousin Carol Mayer.
