Robert “Bobby” S. Wilson Jr. of Burton, formerly of Claridon, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, February 28, 2025, at the age of 76.
Born on June 18, 1948, in Cleveland, Ohio, Bobby was the son of the late Robert S. Wilson and Doris Christine (Zorn) Wilson. He graduated from Burton High School (Maple Leaf- Class of 1966), served our country in the Navy, and went on to take technical courses at The Westside Institute of Technology for HV AC and Boilertraining and later attended Eastern Kentucky University specializing in textile and linen preparation.
Bobby was a former member of the First United Methodist Church of Claridon and had a deep love for life’s simple pleasures. He enjoyed camping, traveling, playing flag football, was an avid college basketball enthusiast and was a former Boy Scouts Cubmaster of troop 197, Burton Chapter.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jammie Wilson, his children, Robert Wilson III, Quinten Wilson, Mark Allen Jr., Diane Allen, and Nevaeh Allen, as well as 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by his sister, Doris Wilson, his brother, Gerald Wilson, his sister-in-law, Debra Wilson, and a host of
nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his first wife, Jacqueline A. Wilson, and his brothers, Lawrence and Kenneth Wilson.
In accordance with Bobby's wishes, a private graveside service was held at East Claridon Cemetery, where he was laid to rest.. Pastor Mike Contenzia was the officiant.
