Robert “Bob” George Patrick Spohn, 80 of Chardon passed away at his home Friday April 7, 2023. He was born August 30, 1942, in Cleveland to the late James A. and Carrie (LaGruth) Spohn. Bob served in the US Marine Corp. from 1961 – 1965. He married the love of his life, Priscilla May Rodd October 3, 1970. Bob worked for the City of Euclid and for Best Sand as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic. Bob loved working with his hands at anything mechanical, electrical, and tinkering on his van. He would invent things to make a tool he was working with to be more efficient for doing more jobs than it was designed for. After the sudden and tragic loss of Natalie and Priscilla. Bob and Heidi moved in together and took comfort and enjoyed their father daughter time together the last 6 years. They also loved spending time watching classic old movies from the 30's and 40's, especially Humphrey Bogart together, and with his granddaughter Natalie’s cat (Sophie). Bob enjoyed singing and was always a happy man.
He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Heidi Spohn, cousin, Marjorie Ann Ciarlillo, and sisters-in-law, Laura Spohn, Janine (Attilio) Granchelli, Vonnie Hayden, brother-in-law, Ken (Diana) Rodd and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by is wife, Priscilla, granddaughter, Natalie, brother, Ronnie Spohn, his twin brother, Jack Spohn, sister-in-law, Sherry Fay, brothers-in-law, Charles Fay, and Jack Lavo.
A Celebration of his life will be on Saturday, April 22, 2023, from 12:00-4:00 PM at the Chardon VFW
752 Water St, Chardon, OH 44024. Military Honors will be held at 2:00 PM at the Hall with the Chardon VFW and Marine Corp Honor Guard.
