Richard "Rich" Daniel Root

Richard Daniel "Rich" Root 70 of Middlefield passed away Wednesday November 22, 2023, with his family by his side at UH Cleveland Hospital. He was born January 26, 1953, in Sharon, PA to the late Adam Daniel and Donna McCarthy. He graduated from Cardinal High School and attended Kent State University. Rich was a proud member of AA. He enjoyed kayak fishing, hunting, and cooking. He worked for Great Lakes Cheese for over 30 years and then was a delivery driver for Maggie’s Donuts.

He will be sadly missed by his children, Kristina Root-Martin, Kyle (Maddi) Root, Bryan Root, Nathan (Kara) Root, Reta Root, sister Barbara (Warren) Kandel, and 6 grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Sue (Babb) Root who passed away July 11, 2013.
 

Calling hours will be held Wednesday November 29, 2023, at Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 W. High Street, Middlefield, Ohio 44062, from 2:00 PM until a Time of Sharing by Family and Friends at 5:00 PM led by Mark Miller, his brother-in-law. He will be laid to rest at a later date in Middlefield Cemetery.
