Richard Postlethwaite Obituary

 

Richard A. Postlethwaite, 82 of Middlefield, formerly of Akron and Texas, passed away at UH Geauga Medical Center and went home to be with Jesus Saturday, July 10, 2021. He was born in Akron on December 14, 1938, son of the late Claude and Helen (Goon) Postlethwaite. After he graduated from Ellet High School in 1957, he proudly served for the U.S. Marine Corp from 1958-1962. He retired from General Tire as a chemist in Akron and moved to Texas 32 years ago. While in Texas he became an ordained Baptist Preacher. He loved sharing God’s words and promises with everyone, especially his friends in the Nursing Homes.

Richard moved to Middlefield two years ago, and married Sherrie (Hunter) Livingston. He was a member of Huntsburg Baptist Church. He enjoyed flower gardens, reading, woodworking, lighthouses, and also loved Pay Day candy bars, sweet tea, and blackberry pie. He will be missed by all his family and friends.

Richard is survived by his wife and best friend, Sherrie, his sister Charlotte Holmes, his daughter Kelly (Rodney) Edwards-Bonsky who was his pride and joy, his son Ricky Postlethwaite, his adopted daughter, Lacie Jones, his special granddaughter Stephanie (Jason) Dawkins, great grandsons Shawn and Danny Dawkins, great-great granddaughter, Brooklyn Baker, also his grandchildren Tracy and Autumn Granger. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Jason (Christie) Livingston, Brian and Melissa Livingston, step grandchildren, Mariska, Masen, Jaxon, and Olivia, many nieces, and nephews, also his very dear “adopted” family, who he considered grandchildren, Noah and Grace Huber and their children, Denysha, Darsey, Dyandre, Dyante, Destiny, and Dyvonte.

A Celebration of Life will be held on a later date.
