Richard Charles Harrington 93 of Middlefield passed away Sunday night at the Briar Cliff Assisted Living. “Rich” as he was known to most was born May 18, 1929 in Chardon, Ohio his parents were Lena (Hofstetter) and Charles Harrington. Rich was raised and spent his entire life in Middlefield. He graduated in 1947 from Middlefield High School and also attended Kent State University. Rich married the love of his life the beautiful Helen Hills in 1950. As a young man Rich accomplish some things not common today. He had a valid driver's license at the age of 11, and a pilot's license at the age of 16. Richard's business career centered around The Middlefield Hardware... The Tractor Barn... and Harrington Square with his son David. He was an Entrepreneur, with various real estate holdings as well. Richard was a past member of the First Methodist Church. A Masonic Lodge member #274 in Burton, the Knights of Pythias, and the Shriners. Throughout his life he had a love of cars, he collected many, even restored a few.
He will be forever loved and missed by his wife Helen and their family...daughters Paula Freitag, Ruth Ann (husband George Womack), Vicki (husband Jerry McCalmont) and his son David (wife Becky Harrington), his sister Barbra Goff. He has 7 Grandchildren, 10 great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was processed in death by sister Charlene Gibbs.
Calling hours will be Saturday February 11, 2023 at Sly Family Funeral Home 15670 W. High St. Middlefield, Ohio 44062...from 1:00 PM until the time of a Masonic Service at 3:00 PM....followed by a time of sharing by family and friends.
