Richard First Sr. Obituary

Richard Charles First Sr., age 87 of Middlefield, formerly of Newbury, passed away peacefully at his home, Monday, December 7, 2020. He was born in Cleveland on February 16, 1933 to John and Mary (Kasick) First. After he graduated from Solon High School in 1951, he served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
 
Richard married Carol Christine Hamm while he was in the Navy. They were married 64 years before she died on July 19, 2017.
 
Richard was owner of R.C. First Enterprises in Auburn, along with his wife Carol, for 42 years. He received a patent on his idea for the Louver Assembly (Insulated clip to hold an expansion joint). Richard enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved being with his wife and family and traveling all over in his RV.
 
He will be sadly missed by his daughter Cari (Benjamin) Rosen, his son Christopher (Julie) First, nine grandchildren, Noah Rosen, Joshua (Marisa) Rosen, Avrielle (Henry) Bailey, Cara Rosen, Micah Rosen, Aschli (Jeff) Negus, Jenna (Eric) Livingston, Apryl Reed, and Melina (Patrick) King, and great granddaughter, Slone Negus.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Carol, his daughter Jonna Reed, his son Richard C. “Skip” First Jr, and five brothers.
 
Following his wishes, there will be a private family graveside service at Munn Cemetery in Newbury.
