Retha Covey Obituary
Retha Jenell Covey 85 of Orwell Ohio passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at university hospitals in Cleveland. She was born September 24, 1937, in Quapaw, Oklahoma to the late Charles, F and Wilda Mae (Moser) Harrington. She married the love of her life Hubert “Smiley” Covey December 15, 1954. She worked at Kennametal in Orwell as a Quality inspector for more than 20 years. She was a member of Southington Baptist church, where she was a devoted servant, and also played the piano. Jenell enjoyed rose gardening, playing the piano, and going antiquing. In her younger years she enjoyed riding and taking care of her horses. Most of all she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. “We would have a hard time finding a better example of a life well lived”
She will be greatly missed by her children, Donald(Peggy) Covey, Connie (Keith) Reed , Deborah (Walter) Miraglia, Mellody Black, 9 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren with one on the way. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert, brother, Charles F. Harrington, and son-in-law, Tim Black.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, December 6, 2022 from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Southington Baptist Church, 4395 State Route 534, Southington, OH 44470, followed by a celebration of her life at 1:00 PM with Pastor Larry Dutton officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview cemetery in Mesopotamia Ohio.
