Ramon “Ray” French was called home to be with the Lord on December 22, 2024. He was loved dearly by his wife of 55 years, Cheryl and his two children Jason (Kelly) French and Tiffany (Dan) Guzman. He was a proud and loving Pop-Pop to his three beautiful grandkids: Addison, Greyson and AJ French.
He was born February 11, 1945 and raised in Mesopotamia, OH to Wilbur and Dorothy French where he helped run the family farm with his three siblings Russell, Roger + Shirley.
After graduating from Bloomfield High School in 1963, he attended Malone College on a track scholarship and competed in the 440 hurdles. It was at Malone that he met Cheryl, his best friend and love, and they married August 23, 1969.
Ray was truly called to be of service in his community. From being an EMT with the fire department to coaching youth baseball and softball to high school track over his many years.
For 40 years, he dutifully served as Bristol Township Trustee, leading the Christmas Lighting Committee, and helped create the Bristol Historical Village.
His life and faith will be celebrated on Saturday, December 28th at 11am at North Bristol Christian Church, 1955 Hyde Oakfield Rd NW, Bristolville, OH 44402. The family will receive guests after the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Ray’s name to the French Family Foundation: frenchfamilyfoundation.com
