Owen Andrew Tomsic May 7, 2006-October 18, 2022.
Owen left this world too soon, at the age of 16, his life was just beginning to unfold. He attended NDES and Berkshire High School where his passion for music flourished. He enjoyed being involved in many orchestras and never shied away from a chance to be on stage. His trumpet playing acumen led him to playing taps and the national anthem many times at the Boardwalk on Put-in-Bay or jumping on stage to play with a band. He also composed an arrangement for all the sections of the Berkshire Marching Band recently. He excelled in everything he was passionate about including disc golf, bowling, and his electric skateboard. His love of Ramen noodles was only rivaled by his high scores in pinball which will be a lasting reminder of his dedication and perseverance.
Owen was a blinding light that could not be dismissed when he was in your presence. When his heart was open he was so kind, creative and funny. He fought fiercely and during his dark times we all waited for the light to come back so we could dance in the music and light once more.
Owen had a strong work ethic and most recently worked at Sharon James Cellars where he was treated like family and he loved working there. He had several other part time jobs including working at the Island Hardware Store where he and his family spent weekends in the summer. Everyone who knew Owen only had the highest compliments to give.
Owen is survived by his parents Lewis and Kristen (Wood) Tomsic, sister Hayden, maternal grandmother Katherine Wood, paternal grandparents Lewis (Debbie) Tomsic, and Joan (Jack) Hageman. Uncle Nathan Wood (Joni) cousins Reese and Emerson, Uncle Ryan Wood (Valerie) cousins Miranda and Matthew, Aunt Angela Daugherty (Joe) cousins Taylor, Damon, and Mason, Aunt Christine Mahoney (Michael) cousins Shannon, Gordon, and Martina. Dear extended family and friends too many to list.

A Child Of Mine
I will lend you, for a little time,
A child of mine, He said.
For you to love the while he lives,
And mourn for when he's dead.
It may be six or seven years,
Or twenty-two or three.
But will you, till I call him back,
Take care of him for Me?
He'll bring his charms to gladden you,
And should his stay be brief.
You'll have his lovely memories,
As solace for your grief.
I cannot promise he will stay,
Since all from earth return.
But there are lessons taught down there,
I want this child to learn.
I've looked the wide world over,
In search for teachers true.
And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes,
I have selected you.
Now will you give him all your love,
Nor think the labour vain.
Nor hate me when I come
To take him home again?
I fancied that I heard them say,
'Dear Lord, Thy will be done!'
For all the joys Thy child shall bring,
The risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter him with tenderness,
We'll love him while we may,
And for the happiness we've known,
Forever grateful stay.
But should the angels call for him,
Much sooner than we've planned.
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes,
And try to understand.
