Odessa Mae (Takah) Guy

Odessa Mae Guy 85 passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 18, 2026, in Newbury, Ohio.
The daughter of Ernest and Odessa Takah, she was born on January 15, 1941 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. 

Odessa was a homemaker and an accomplished cook and baker. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family. Odessa was employed by the  F. W. Woolworth company and later by Walgreens.

Odessa is survived by her sons, Edward (Deborah) Guy of Painesville Township and Timothy (Bernadette) Guy of Newbury and a sister Elizabeth (Larry) Dennis of Smock, Pennsylvania

Odessa is preceded in death by her husband, Edward whom she married on July 8, 1961 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in New Salem, Pennsylvania, her parents, brothers, Ernest, Victor, Glen and an infant brother, Eugene Takah, sisters, Ernestine McManus and Sherry Shimko.

A Funeral Mass will be held for Odessa at St Edward’s Catholic Church, 16150 Center St, Parkman, OH 44080 at 10:00 AM, Thursday, February 26, 2026. 

Interment will take place at Mentor Municipal Cemetery, 6881 Hopkins Road Mentor, OH 44060, immediately following Mass.
