Nancy Joanne (Ziska) Purpura

Nancy Joanne Purpura (Ziska), 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 24, 2022. She was born January 29, 1937, in Cleveland, Ohio. Daughter of James and Marie Ziska. She was a graduate of South High in Cleveland. 

Nancy married Donald Purpura, then moved to Middlefield where she called home for 57 years. 
Nancy was the head cook at Briar Hill Nursing Home for 20 years, retiring and then became a greeter at Walmart. She also loved to volunteer at Geauga Hospital and worked for the Board of Elections. Most of all, she enjoyed her family. She had a special and unique relationship with each of her loved ones. She enjoyed golf and watching her kids and grandchildren participate in various sports and was a huge fan of the Cleveland Browns.

Nancy will be sadly missed by her 3 children, Donny, David (Fiancé Janet Baustert) and Karen (Craig) Porter, as well as her 5 grandchildren, Nicole, Chad, Anthony, Kailee (fiancé Kevin Hofstetter) Cody (Kayla) and 3 great grandchildren Caiden, Colbey, and Crew; her brother, Jim (Pat) Ziska, nephews, Daren (Connie), Dean (Stacy), Dale (Vickie), great nieces, Brooke, Paige, Violet, Chloe, and also her dog Mickey. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Donald Purpura, and 2 grandsons Ryan Gilson and Justin Purpura.
