Maryellen D. (Soika) Ashworth

Maryellen D. Ashworth, "Sis" , of Hiram, 78, died peacefully, on December 8, 2025. 

Maryellen, was the eldest Daughter of the late Richard L. Soika Sr. & Bernice Soika of Chagrin Falls. Sister of the late Richard Soika Jr.(Leann), Joseph (Sheral), Kathy Emrick (deceased), and Judith Papesh (deceased). 

A graduate from Chagrin Falls High School, Class of 1965 and a proud retired Army Civilian with 25 years of service. Maryellen truly lived life to its fullest. From travels to Germany, the Carolinas, Colorado West Virginia and back home again. And hobbies including NASCAR races, crafting, even skydiving. She was always on an adventure. 

She is survived by her friend and companion Ed Emrick whose company and friendship she cherished. Her nieces and nephews. As well as many other family and friends. 

A gathering of family and friends will be held Sunday December 14, 2025 from 2:00 - 5:00 PM at Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 W. High Street, Middlefield, Ohio 44062.
