He was born on July 8, 1956 in Maryland. Marvin was the son of the late Marvin Edward Saylor and Ruth Virginia Saylor (Baxter). A longtime resident of Portage County, Marvin had previously lived in Windham before settling in Diamond. He worked for many years as a handyman and mechanic with Ron's Construction, known for his skilled hands and willingness to fix anything -even things that didn't need fixing.
Marvin enjoyed being outdoors, especially working in the yard, and was always tinkering with something mechanical. He was a man of humble talents who took pride in helping others with practical solutions and hands-on care.
He is survived by his children: Tammy (James) Taylor, Sherri Saylor, Lori Saylor, Casey Saylor. Marvin was also a loving grandpa/papa to Andrew and Kaitlyn Snodgrass, Riley Miller, Devin, Domanick, and Damien Oborn, Zyler and Zenna Cruise, and great- grandfather to seven.
Marvin's memory will be cherished by his siblings: Edward (Brenda) Saylor, Linda (Larry) McKinnon, Patricia (Rick) Ditto, Roberta (Paul) Angus. He was formerly married to Kathy Saylor, and their shared family and life experiences remained an important part of his story. He was preceded in death by his son Marvin "Joe" Saylor, ex- wife Kathy Saylor, daughter Terri Miller, brother George Saylor, sister- in- law Leona Saylor (Andel), Christine LeMasters, and half- sister Loretta Ditmer. Marvin also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
