Marlene F. Collins, age 81 of Troy Township, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2020 at UH Geauga Medical Center. She was born on October 4, 1938 in Cleveland, daughter of the late Peter C. and Angela A. (Giasullo) Curcio. She was a 1956 graduate of Marymount High School in Garfield Hts., Ohio.
Marlene worked for the Cleveland Trust Bank, then she worked for the City of Cleveland, where she met her husband Eugene Collins. She married Eugene October 26, 1963 and they moved to Troy Township in 1969. From 1972-1999 she was the office manager at the Century Village in Burton. Marlene was an active member of St. Edward Catholic Church, a member of the Alter Maids and did the cooking for funerals at the church. She was a volunteer at Geauga Hospital in the gift and coffee shop. She was an avid sewer and enjoyed traveling with her daughter to Las Vegas and Myrtle Beach. She will be missed by her family and friends.
Marlene is survived by her beloved husband Eugene of 56 years, her daughter Michelle Collins, her brother Peter J Curcio and many beloved cousins and other family members. She is preceded in death by her parents.
On Monday, August 31, 2020, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 PM with calling hours 10:00 AM until the Mass at St. Edward Catholic Church, 16150 Center St., Parkman, Ohio. Burial will follow at Troy Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in her name to St. Edward’s, P O Box 709, Parkman, Ohio 44080.
