Lynette Elaine (Speidel) Mullett, 83, of Burton passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022 in the presence of family at her daughter’s home in Novelty, Ohio. She was born February 18, 1938 in East Cleveland to the late Lynn and Doris (Cobb) Speidel. She graduated from Windham High School in 1956. Although artistically and musically gifted, after graduation she contributed to supporting her widowed mother and younger siblings in lieu of attending art school. She worked at the Cleveland Public Library, Collinwood Branch and AT&T before meeting her soulmate and love of her life, David Paul Mullett, whom she married on June 26, 1965. After moving to Burton, she became a homemaker, a wonderful mother to two daughters, and a member of the Burton Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, where she sang in the choir. In midlife, she served as a playground monitor at Burton Elementary School and pursued a career in real estate. A friendly and spirited person, she enjoyed singing, gardening, dancing, long walks, watercolor painting, and baking delicious desserts, which she shared with family, neighbors, and friends; her chocolate fudge (her mother's recipe) was an all-time favorite. She shared a birthday exactly one year before her husband's; she called him her 1st birthday gift.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Rebecca (Clark) Gerber of Novelty, Ramona (Sean) Crawford of Waltham, Massachusetts, sister, Joanne Speidel, brothers, Wayne and Gary Speidel, sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Speidel, Pat Speidel, Ada Larson, Bette Fairbanks, and Mary Mullett, and brother-in-law, Jim Mullett, as well as cousins and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul.
