Lyle Milton Rabbitts, age 83, of West Farmington, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at David Sampson Hospice House. Born on September 18, 1941, in Painesville, Ohio, he was the son of the late Alfred Lyle Rabbitts and Treva Mae Robinson.
Lyle worked for the Chardon Rubber Company as a mill operator. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and his commitment to community continued through his involvement with the Warren and Geauga County Amateur Radio Association, West Farmington Senior Center, the American Legion, and the West Farmington VFW. A member of the Huntsburg Baptist Church, Lyle’s faith and service shaped his life.
He is survived by his three sons, Matthew (Lorinda), Timothy (Martha), and Patrick; his brother Lann; his sisters, Ann Marie Rabbitts and Dianne (Jack) Prunty; as well as grandchildren Bethany and Cody Rabbitts, and Jennifer (David) Yukon. He will also be missed by his great-grandson, Theodore.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Catherine A. Rabbitts, sister, Phyllis Hill, daughter-in-law’s, Lynn (Patrick) and Liz Rabbitts (Matthew). Lyle leaves a legacy of love, a daily trivia question, and strength to his family and friends.
Calling hours will be held 10:00-12:00 PM Friday October 11, 2024 followed by a service to honor Lyle’s life 12:00 PM at Huntsburg Baptist Church, 16401 Mayfield Rd, Huntsburg, OH 44046. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery West Farmington, Ohio.
