Lois Jean (Cuckow) Mooney, 86, of Middlefield, passed peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Cleveland on April 28, 1934, to Alfred and Mildred (Glover) Cuckow. She attended Collinwood Schools and continued her education with a nursing degree.
Lois worked as a nurse at Alan Dell Nursing Home, was Director of Nursing at Blossom Hill Nursing Home in Huntsburg and was Director of Social Services at Laurie Ann Nursing Home in Newton Falls.
On May 19, 1952, she married William J. Mooney, also of the Collinwood area. They raised their family in Windsor and enjoyed 50 years of marriage.
Lois leaves behind four sons, Edward (Brenda) of Middlefield, Patrick of Greene, Thomas (Tina) and Daniel (Loretta), both of West Farmington; seven grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren; two sisters, Carol Chitwood of Middlefield, and Doris Hooberry of Chardon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Mildred Cuckow of Huntsburg, her husband William J. Mooney of Windsor, her daughter Lovina M. Rearick of Chardon, her son William A. Mooney of Williamsfield, and her brother Robert Dale Cuckow of Mayfield.
Lois was a devout Christian and savored her life-long service with the Lord. She will be greatly missed by her loved ones.
A private Family Service was held at Sly Family Funeral Home in Middlefield. She was laid to rest next to her husband in Hillside Cemetery in West Farmington.
