Leonard “Buzz” Salrin, age 76 of Newbury, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at his home with his family by his side. He had a two-year battle with acute myeloid leukemia Leonard was born in Cranesville, PA on September 3, 1944, and was a graduate of Grand Valley High School. Leonard served in the US Army from 1962 – 1965. He married Neva Jean Wilson January 14, 1967 and moved from Williamsfield in 1984 to Newbury. He was a lay out fitter welder for several manufacturing companies and then became owner operator of NJS Cleaning in Newbury. Leonard loved the outdoors. He loved walking and hiking in Punderson Park, fishing, boating, and doing woodworking. He especially enjoyed being with his family, friends, and his dog Peaches. He loved going to parties, dining out and always looked forward to the 4th of July Party. He will be missed dearly.
Leonard is survived by his beloved wife Neva Jean of 54 years, his daughter Donna (Jim Dhayer) Priem, two grandchildren, Clinton (Lauren) Rose and Tyler Priem, a great grandchild Carmen Rose, his sister Rose (Bob) Stemler, brother Raymond (Joyce) Mosser and several nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his son Matthew Salrin, his mother Elsie (Houghton) Mosser and stepfather Raymond Mosser.
A Graveside Service will be held 12:00 PM Monday, February 1, 2021 at Newbury Center Cemetery, 14915 Auburn Road, Newbury, Ohio 44065.
