Kenneth “Ken” G. Bacon 82, of Leavittsburg, formerly of Mesopotamia, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 1, 1938 in Erie, PA to the late Garold and Tressie (Samaec) Bacon. Ken worked for MFG, Molded Fiberglass in Union City where he made the master mold for the 1953 Chevy Corvette and helped hand lay the body at the factory. He then worked for Stock Equipment Co. in Bainbridge for 10 years, and then for Newbury Industries for 25 years. He married the love of his life Shirley J. Riddle. Ken enjoyed traveling. He visited every state but Alaska and Hawaii. He was a jack of all trades, loved tinkering with stuff, building, crafts, painting, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers Fan.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 57 years, Shirley, his son Brian (Debra) Bacon of Bristolville, his daughter Sherry (Mike) Bacon-Graves of Leavittsburg, 2 grandchildren, Jessica (Zachary) Mitchell of Aberdeen, Maryland, Talon (Samantha) Bacon of Columbus, 2 great grandchildren, Maximus and Riley Mitchell, a sister, Martha Ann Rodgers of Union City, PA, and a brother David Bacon of Thailand. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, a bother and infant brother.
Per his wishes there will be no services and a private graveside service in Fairview Cemetery, Mesopotamia, will take place at a later date.
