Keith E. Painter, 84, of Montville, has joined his wife Jane “Betty” Painter in heaven on January 26, 2021. He was born to the late Robert and Elsie (Barnum) Painter on February 12, 1936, in East Cleveland, Ohio. He met and married the love of his life Jane (Janecek) in 1952, and they went on to celebrate 60 years of marriage together prior to her death in 2012. Keith worked for the Illuminating Company as a watch engineer till his retirement. Keith enjoyed buying and selling Western horses and wearing flannel shirts with bolo ties and his trademark cowboy hat. He and Jane enjoyed vacationing in Maine in the summer eating fresh seafood and lobster, travelling to Clearwater, Florida in the winter, and loved taking their family to a cabin in Canada that was near the main shipping route for many ocean bound ships that had to maneuver through the locks. The family enjoyed waterskiing, fishing, and being together. Recently for Christmas, Keith’s family got him a parrot named “Digger” that truly delighted him, and they became fast friends. Keith’s greatest joy was his three children, 6 grandchildren and 9 great- great children.
Keith is survived by his daughter Sue (Gary Jacobs), sons Don (Rita), Rob (Lori), grandchildren Angela (Aaron), Brian (Rachel), Chris (Natalie), Shawn (Ashley), Nick (Paige), Jordan (Clint), and 9 great grandchildren, Skyler, Emily, Eleanore, Charlee, Elsie, Sophia, Siefer, Michael, Anna, and many friends in the community. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Jane. Keith impacted many lives, and he will be truly missed, but he is happily reunited with his loving wife.
Per the family’s wishes, there will be no viewing or services at this time. A celebration of life will take place later this year.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Keith’s name to The Geauga County Department on Aging, or The Hospice of the Western Reserve would be appreciated.
