Katie J (Weaver) Byler

Katie J. (Weaver) Byler, 56 of Orwell, Ohio passed away on Wednesday morning, April 9, 2025, surrounded by her family after her 3rd battle with cancer.
Katie was born in Claridon, Ohio, to the late Joe and Katie (Miller) Weaver, on April 2, 1969. She married her husband Ed in April 1993. She was a dedicated bookkeeper and housekeeper who took pride in her work and found joy in the simple pleasures of life. A true country music fan, she especially loved listening to Alan Jackson, whose songs often filled her home and heart. 
She had a special love for dogs and could often be found tending to her yard, where she found peace and happiness mowing her yard and enjoying the fresh air.
Katie will be remembered as a deeply loving and compassionate woman whose kindness touched everyone she met. She had a joyful spirit, a welcoming heart, and an inspiring presence that made others feel seen, supported, and encouraged. Her faith in Christ remained steadfast, even in the face of hardship, and she lived each day with strength, grace, and resilience. Whether offering a helping hand, sharing a laugh over a card game, or simply listening with her whole heart, she made those around her feel truly cared for. A devoted mother to her son and a motherly figure to many more, she was also a loyal sister and friend, always ready to lift others up with her warmth and wisdom.
Katie will be greatly missed by her son Tyler and his longtime girlfriend Abby Chernesky, and Katie's siblings, Ada (Joe) Valent, Fannie Miller, John (Sarah) Weaver, Mary (Crist) Yoder, Crist (Rosemary) Weaver, Ida Schmucker, Andy (Linda) Weaver, Barbara (Robert) Byler, Joe (Martha Ann) Weaver, Jerry (Esther) Weaver, Melvin (Sarah) Weaver, Danny (Mary) Weaver, Martha (Ray) Slaubaugh and Betty (Mike) Baker and sisters-in-law, Betty (David) Coblentz, Irene (Lester) Coblentz, and Fannie Mae (Henry) Byler and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ed and infant sons Dominic and Zachary Byler.

Calling Hours will be held on Monday April 14, 2025, from 5:00-8:00 PM at Sly Family Funeral Home 15670 West High Street. Middlefield Ohio from 
The Funeral will take place on Tuesday April 15, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Sly Family Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Hostetler officiating. 
Her final resting place will be at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chesterland, Ohio.
