On Wednesday April 13, 2022 Judith (Judy) Ayer of Newbury, Ohio, loving wife and mother of three children, passed away at age 78. She is now pain free in heaven.
Judy was born on February 28, 1944 in Northfield, Vermont to William and Katherine (Findley) Monty. She attended college at Mount Ida Junior College. On July 11, 1964 she married Laurence George Ayer. They raised three sons, Larry Jr., Scott and Brian.
Judy had a passion for animals. She was a business owner where she showed championship dogs, trained & groomed dogs, taught classes and engaged with the community. Over the years she owned a variety of animals including dogs, cats, birds, horses, and goats. She also loved the Lord, the beach and her friends in Ohio & Florida.
Judy cared about people and her family. This was evident in her support of her husband through many moves (including to Germany) and through his military service. She supported and encouraged her 3 boys in their sports and activities. She also cared for foster children to provide and support them during a difficult time.
Judy was preceded in death by her father, William, her mother, Katherine Findley and her brother William Jr. She is survived by her husband Larry, her three children, Larry Jr., Scott (Tina), Brian (Lisa), her brother Raymond, sisters Charlene and Consuela, five grandchildren (Hannah, Nathan, Jenna, Carly, Lily) and three foster children (Gabby, Preston, Anthony).
A graveside service will be held Wednesday April 20 at 11:00AM at Munn Cemetery at 123 Music Street, Newbury Ohio for family and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held on May 14, 2022 at 11:00AM at the Burton American Legion Hall, 14052 Goodwin Street, Burton, OH (all friends and family are welcome) Flowers may be sent to 11030 Bell Road, Newbury, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Geauga County Food Pantry, 13211 Aquilla Rd. Suite B, Chardon, Ohio 44024 or the Summer Lunch Program at Claridon Community Helps, P.O Box 12, East Claridon, Ohio 44033.
