Joyce was very proud to become an American citizen in 1976. She loved playing the piano, and took lessons with the Cleveland Conservatory of Music. Her other interests included muskie fishing, raising black labs, and cooking. She also thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends at their Auburn home, and at the family cottage in Bobcaygeon, Ontario. She will be greatly missed by her sons Randall (Roberta) Puckett of Hatley, Wisconsin, and Jack Puckett of Ravenna, Ohio, as well as five grandchildren: Lindsay (Tim Poodiack) Puckett, M.D.,Caitlin (Calvin Cole) Puckett, David Byler, Belle (Michael) Ebie, and Johnston Puckett, as well as great-granddaughters Poppy Poodiack, and Ripley Cole Puckett. Joyce was beloved by sisters-in-law Sally Milnark and Mary Puckett; son-in-law Dave Byler, Paula Pemberton, Merry Cooke, and by her many Canadian relatives.
She will be buried in Shadyside Cemetery in Auburn Township on a later date. It was her wish to not hold a funeral service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks instead for any donations to be made on her behalf for Alzheimer’s research.
A special thank you to all the staff at Arden Courts Memory Care at Chagrin Falls, for their exceptional care of our dear mother.
