John F. “Jack” Hewitt, 79 of Orwell passed away Friday, April 30, 2021 at Burton Health Care Center. He was born June 3, 1941 in Cleveland to the late Ralph and Evelyn (Luther) Hewitt. Jack graduated from Shaw High School in 1959 and received his Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lakeland Collage. He was active in the church teaching Sunday school for many years at Advent Lutheran Church in Mentor, Ohio and was a member of Celebration Lutheran Church in Chardon. Jack enjoyed model railroading, fishing, camping, and playing hockey in his younger years. He was a softball coach, and a Boy Scout troop leader. Jack was also a volunteer at Conversation Station, after school activities, was a AARP Tax volunteer, and played bingo at the Country Neighbor Community Center.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Martha (Loar) Hewitt who he married July 12, 1997, his children, Janet (Darrell) Williams, Pamela (Raymond) Carthen, and Matthew (Lynn) Hewitt, 7 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and his brother, Larrie Hewitt.
