John S. Katronick, 87 of Troy Township, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at UH Geauga Medical Center. He was born on May 2, 1933 in Cleveland. He was an only child but was very close to his cousin, Ron David, who he loved like a brother. John graduated from Benedictine High School and worked as a banker at Great Lakes Commerce Bank (later Great Lakes Bank) for over 40 years and as a cashier at Drug Mart for more than 20 years. Moran, John was an active member of St. Helen Catholic Church and served as head usher there for many years. He was also active with St. Helen’s Bowling team, Bingo night, and the Chicken Barbeque at St. Helen and Notre Dame. He enjoyed gardening and baseball, loved John Wayne and spoiling his dogs, and was a tremendous Cleveland sports fan. His greatest joy was being with his family, especially his grandchildren.
John is survived by his wife Bonnie of 50 years, four children, Patti (Michael) Coss, Pamela Katronick, Kathy (Morgan) Ellington and Andy (Kristin) Katronick; and his five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Steven and Mae (nee Medricka) Katronick.
