Joan Ann Szydlowski

Joan Ann Szydlowski,85, of Burton, Ohio passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Thistle House for Senior Living in Chardon, Ohio.

Joan was born in Cleveland, Ohio to the late John and Pauline (Surgent) Rohal on August 29, 1939. She attended and graduated from John Adams School in 1958. She later went on to marry Thomas Szydlowski Sr. and they had 3 children. Joan enjoyed reading books and crossword puzzles along with painting. She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. She had a special bond with her furry friends, dog Sargent and cat Fluffy.  When she moved in at The Thistle House, she became active with various activities and crafts.

Joan will be greatly missed by her family, children Thomas Jr, John and Pamela, grandchildren Sydney, Morgan and Jared, and nephew Craig (Lorrie) Rohal.

Other then her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Tom Sr., brother Lawrence, sister-in-law Betty and nephew Ken.

Calling hours will be on Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 4:30-7:30 PM at Sly Family Funeral Home. 15670 W. High Street. Middlefield. The Funeral will be on Friday, October 25, 2024, at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at Slitor Cemetery following the service.
