Jerry Strom Obituary
Jerry Edwin Strom, 81 of Hickory, North Carolina, formerly of Bristolville, Ohio, passed away Friday, September 2, 2022 at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory, NC. He was born May 25, 1941, in Warren, Ohio to the late Edwin and Dorothy (Jones) Strom. He graduated from Bristolville High School and went on to join the US Air Force. He returned and worked at Copperweld Steel Mill in Champion, Ohio as a supervisor until he retired. Jerry was very active in his church and enjoyed reading the Bible. He was an avid sports fan especially the Pittsburgh Steelers and enjoyed playing billiards.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Louanna (Bryant) Strom who he was married to for 25 years his loving children, Tim Strom, Chris Strom, and Wendy (Sam) Chitwood. He also leaves behind his sister Barbara (Mike) Wisniewski, 8 grandchildren, Julie, Jade, Ian, Tasha, Morgan, Griffin, Mackenzie, and Miranda. He also has five great grandchildren, Josh, Brandon, Aiden, Xavier, and Ashton. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Calling hours will be held Friday Sept. 9, 2022 from 5 PM until the time of his service which will be held at 7 PM at the Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 West High St. Middlefield OH 44062. He will be laid to rest at a later date at Sager Cemetery in Bristolville.
