Jean Stanley Obituary

Jean J. Stanley, age 97 of Parkman, passed away of natural causes on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Ohman Family Living at Briar in Middlefield. She was born on April 11, 1923 in Akron, daughter of the late Peter and Sophia Bloniarz. She grew up in Akron and was a graduate of North High in Akron. Jean was married to John A Stanley for 70 years.
 
She leaves behind a loving daughter Jane (Bill Edwards) List, her foster sons, James (Mary Martin) Griswold, Jack Bosak, grandchildren, Joe (Analyn) Boyk, Regina (Dale) Spicer, Lisa (Mark) Pollari, Kelly (Harlan) Wilson, Michael Boyk, David (Donna) List, the Twins John (Amy) Boyk and Chris (Tiffany) Boyk, Courtney Stanley, Vince Griswold, Tonya (Ed) Bean, and 35 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren. Which she was so proud at 97 she could remember all their names. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband John, her loving daughter Jeannette Boyk, her loving son Jack Ray Stanley, two loving sons in laws, Bill List and Jerome Boyk, brothers Adam, Bernie, sisters Louise and Nellie.
 
She belonged to St. Edward Catholic Church and enjoyed many years of working at their annual chicken dinners. She also was President of a political party club, where she always would say, “Why would anyone want to be President of the United States, there is so much responsibility”.  Jean volunteered at Hattie Larlham Foundation and the Parkman Bicentennial Committee. She enjoyed crocheting, rose gardening, playing the organ. Her other loves were music and dancing with her husband John, and her most enjoyment of anything was the love of her family. 
 
The family requests memorial donations can be made to St. Edwards Catholic Church, P.O. Box 709 Parkman, Ohio 44080, Hattie Larlham Foundation, 9772 Diagonal Road Mantua, Ohio 44255, or to Boys Town,  PO Box 8000 Boys Town, NE 68010 
 
A Private Mass of Christian Burial was held, and she was laid to rest next to her husband in Overlook Cemetery.
