Jean M. (Collins) Seiler “Grams”, 79 of Middlefield passed away Saturday June 17, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Geauga County on June 2, 1944, to the late Alva and Frances (Nowlin) Collins. She attended Middlefield High School. She married the love of her life David John Seiler Sr. on October 20, 1962, and went to be married for 45 years until his passing in 2008. They had two children, David Jr. and Danette. She had many jobs in and around Middlefield including most recently Russell Funeral Service and Sly Family Funeral Home. Jean loved a good joke, had an infectious laugh, and always left people with a smile. She was a member of the Middlefield Fire Auxiliary, and served on the Cardinal School P.T.A. She cherished the time with her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren who were her entire world. Jean was an excellent cook and baker, especially her Christmas cookies.
She will be sadly missed by her children, David (Mona) Seiler Jr, Danette (Joe Rose) Ludlow, grandchildren, Joshua (Justine) Ludlow, Matthew (Chloe) Ludlow, Bradley Seiler, Adam Ludlow, great grandchildren, Bentley Jirousek, Brooklynn Ludlow, Brantley Seiler, Gracie Seiler and Palmer Ludlow. She is also survived by her brother Bill Collins, sisters Mary Thompson, Pat Collins, Alice Newcomer, her longtime companion Don Thomas, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, David Seiler Sr, grandson Brenan Seiler, sister Bo Bryson, brothers Johnny, Raymond, Elmer, and Gary Collins.
Visitation will be held at the Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 W. High St, Middlefield, OH. 44062 Friday June 23, 2023 from 1:00 PM-3:00 PM and 5:00 PM-7:00 PM followed by a Service at 7:00 PM with Pastor Roger Kruse officiating. She will be laid to rest with her husband at a later date at a private graveside service in Middlefield Cemetery.
