Janet Sanders Stephens

Janet S. Stephens, 77, of Auburn Township passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 26, 2024. 

Janet was born to the late Dr.Edward W. and Mary E. (Kingman) Sanders on August 19, 1946 in Bellevue, Ohio.

She graduated from Bellevue High school- and went to Cosmetology school. Janet married her husband Dennis Stephens in 1970. She was a teacher’s aide and also worked as a clerk in sales at a clothing store. Janet loved doing different arts and crafts, and she was an animal lover. She sang in the choir at St. Helens, went to all her childrens and grandchildrens sporting events, and loved to travel internationally. 

Janet will be greatly missed by her husband Dennis, children Matthew (Veronica Johnson) Stephens, Jennifer (Paul)Chase, grandchildren Stephen Chase and Shannon Chase, and sister Phyllis (Jim) Walters.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Chuck, Joe, Gordon and Edward. 

Calling hours will be at Sly Family Funeral Home 15670 W. High Street Middlefield on Wednesday January 31, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 PM.

Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, February 1, 2024, at 10:00 at St. Lucy’s Catholic Church 16280 E High St, Middlefield, with Father Bearer officiating. Please meet at the church on Thursday Morning for the Mass.
