Janet Kapela

Janet “GG” Kapela-Tishko(Nee Wolczyk) , 99 of Burton, Ohio passed away January 7, 2026, at Geauga Assisted Living. 
She was born on November 6, 1926, in Cleveland Ohio to the late Frank and Josephine Wolczyk. 

Our beloved GG will always be remembered as a fun-loving grandmother. She was crowned Miss Senior Ohio. She was always ready to dance and make people smile whether dressed as a Christmas tree walking through Walmart or giving tours with school children at Century Village and greeting guests at the pancake breakfasts. 

Survivors include her daughter Kathleen Mayo (Charles deceased) Theresa Vince (John), son, Thomas Tishko (Barbara), sister, Adele Goik, grandchildren, Blaze Tishko (Laura), Michael Tishko (Jennifer), Nicholas Tishko (Sarah), Kristen Miller (Matthew), Jessica Vince, Chazz Mayo, Ginger Mayo (Steve). 13 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Nicholas Tishko and Adams Kapela, son Paul, sister, Genevive Novak, brothers Steve, Maximillian, and Stanley Wolczyk. 

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 4:00-8:00 PM at Sly Family Funeral Home. 15670 W. High Street. Middlefield. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at the funeral home at 11:00 AM with the burial immediately following at All Saints Cemetery 480 West Highland Road. Northfield, Ohio 44067.
